More Than 100 Turn Out to Clear Tornado Debris From Frankfort Roads

A strong showing by volunteers made the cleanup effort a success.

By Erin Gallagher

More than 100 volunteers turned out to help clear Frankfort's roads of tornado debris.

The Will County and Cook County Farm Bureaus coordinated the effort to clean up the area severely damaged by the recent tornado, according to Jim Robbins, a past president of the Will County Farm Bureau.

Bureau manager Mark Schneidewind had hoped to have 60 or so volunteers and to work until about 5 p.m. The strong showing cut the work day in half.
