Football: Costly Interceptions Lead L-Way East to Lose to Bolingbrook
The Lincoln-Way East Griffins varsity football team lost their second game of the season to the Bolingbrook Raiders Friday night, 12-3.
Interceptions turned the tide in an otherwise close game Friday night, as the Lincoln-Way East Griffins lost to the Bolingbrook Raiders for their second loss of the season.
The only score for three quarters during the game at Bolingbrook was a Griffins field goal in the second quarter. The Raiders got the first touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter on a run, and the extra point kick was blocked.
Later into the quarter, the Griffins gave up an interception deep in Raiders territory, but Bolingbrook’s drive ended with a missed field goal. A short pass Griffins pass after they took over possession resulted in another interception that was immediately ran in for a touchdown.

The Griffins managed to block the extra point, but the damage was done and they lost 12-3.
The Griffins go into their last regular season game with a 5-2 record against Joliet Central on their field 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Bolingbrook comes to Orland Park for their last regular season game against the Sandburg Eagles 7:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.
