Frankfort Trustee Kevin Egan Resigns his Seat

Trustee Kevin Egan resigned his seat on the Frankfort Village Board. He cites personal reason.

Frankfort Village Trustee Kevin Egan has resigned from the Villaged Board.

At the regular June 3 meeting of the Village Board, Mayor Jim Holland announced that Egan submitted his resignation effective June 1.

In his resignation letter, Egan stated he was resigning for personal reasons related to his family. In 2005, the mayor appointed Egan to the trustee position that he had vacated when he was elected mayor.

Egan was later elected to four year terms in 2007 and 2011.  Previously, Egan had been elected to terms as Frankfort Trustee in 1991 and 1995.

Egan also served on Frankfort's Plan Commission in 1990 and from 2004 until 2005, when he was chairman of the Commission. In total, Egan served the people of Frankfort for three years as a Plan Commissioner and over 16 years as a trustee. Egan also served on the Village's Financial Affairs Committee and Administrative Policy Committee.

Before government service Egan served the community as President of the Prestwick Homeowners' Association.  As president," Egan was highly instrumental in discussions that lead to the annexation of the Prestwick subdivision into the Village of Frankfort and the acquisition of the east basin water and sewer system," said Mary Canino, village community relations director.

Egan is a partner in the national law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP.   "Kevin will be missed by our community. Our villagebBoard will miss his skills at creating easily understood and concise explanations of issues and his ability to represent all the people of thevVillage in a fair and ethical manner.  We wish Kevin and his family well," said Holland.

Plans to fill the vacancy
