UPDATED: Village Lifts Precautionary Boil Order for Evergreen Drive Residents

A minimum of 24 houses are affected by a water main break at Evergreen Drive and Nebraska resident, Frankfort officials report.

A precautionary boil order is in effect for residents on Evergreen Drive between Nebraska Street and Sauk Trail after a water main break Wednesday, village officials report. Residents are urged to boil their water for five minutes before using it to cook or drink, a village press release stated. The order is only a precaution, and residents affected by it--a minimum of 24 houses, according to the release--will be notified by the village when the order is lifted. No details were released on how the water main at Evergreen Drive and Nebraska Street was damaged. Residents with questions can call Village Utilities Director Darrin Yount at 815-469-2177.
