60-Day Suspension for Will County Judge who Viewed Porn at Work
The Illinois Courts Commission called Judge Joseph Polito's use of work hours to view sex sites an "inexcusable waste of judicial time."
The Will County judge who claimed his addiction to porn caused him to view sex Web sites while at work was suspended for 60 days without pay Friday by the Illinois Courts Commission. While people do develop addictions to alcohol, drugs and pornography, the commission wrote that Judge Joseph Polito's decision to do engage in porn viewing while at work was an "inexcusable waste of judicial time that should have been spent on available judicial duties,” according to a story in the Chicago Sun-Times. Polito, 69, told the commission in November that he suffered from a lifelong addiction to porn, which crossed over into his work day.
