PHOTOS: Christkindl Lantern Parade
Residents carried lanterns through downtown Frankfort and enjoyed a bonfire.
A traditional lantern parade was held on Saturday, the first day of Frankfort’s 27th annual Christkindl weekend. St. Nicholas led the evening procession, which departed from the Frankfort Historical Museum and ended at Breidert Green. Parade participants were provided with lanterns. Following the parade, community members gathered around a fire on the green to enjoy a few Christmas poems recited by St. Nicholas, as well as cookies and cocoa.
