Traffic Stop Ends with Four Felony Charges

A Lisle woman faces three aggravated DUI felony charges after two prior DUI convictions.

Editor's note: This article was revised after publication. A Lisle woman faces felony charges following a traffic stop in Frankfort. Stacy K. Niemiec, 52, of the 5500 block of Essex Road in Lisle, was charged with three counts of aggravated driving under the influence and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, at 1:50 a.m. on Jan. 5 on the 20500 block of La Grange Road. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, improper lane usage and two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence. A Frankfort police officer was on patrol when he saw the car in front of him weaving from lane to lane. When he stopped the car, Niemiec smelled of alcohol and couldn’t coherently answer …

Legalities Surrounding Frankfort Township Fiery Crash Progress

Kevin Krohn is accused of aggravated DUI for his role in connection with the death of a Manhattan man.

Kevin Krohn, 22, of New Lenox, made his first pre-trial appearance Tuesday in Will County Circuit Court before Judge Edward Burmila, Jr. on charges of aggravated DUI in connection with the Aug. 25 death of a Manhattan man in a fiery crash in Frankfort Township. The case against Krohn was continued until 9:30 am. Dec. 18 at the courthouse. The accident involving Krohn resulted in the death of Manhattan's 22-year-old Jake Stevens. Stevens was a passenger in a car driven by Krohn, who told police he jerked the steering wheel and lost control of his car in the wee hours of the morning on Steger Road at 104th Avenue.
