Jason Chance, who served time in prison for threatening Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow, was found unfit to answer new allegations of threatening Silver Cross Hospital and other officials.
A downstate man already convicted of threatening Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow on Facebook was found unfit to face new charges of menacing public officials. Jason Chance, 40, was returned to jail after a Monday morning court hearing but will be transferred to a facility run by the Illinois Department of Human Services. Chance has already taken a two-year prison sentence for making threats against Glasgow in 2010. According to a criminal complaint, Chance made a Facebook post "containing a threat to rape and kill James Glasgow." Chance was also charged with "cyberstalking" Glasgow. On top of the prison sentence, Chance was also hit with 30 months of probation with special conditions. Chance allegedly violated that probation by …

During the month of March, Silver Cross Hospital is offering free colon cancer screening kits.
Many consider it a man’s disease. Yet half of those diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year are women. And about half of those women will die from it. This cancer is highly curable if caught at an early stage. Even better, certain preventative measures can reduce risk from the disease in the first place. “Ninety percent of colorectal cancer cases can be cured when found and treated at an early stage, so regular screenings are important,” said Riten Sheth, M.D., gastroenterologist on staff at Silver Cross Hospital. Risk Increases with Age The majority of colon cancer cases begin as small benign growths—called polyps—that can become cancerous over time. Polyps may appear in either the colon or the rectum, both of which are part of the …

Both Riverside Medical Center and Silver Cross Hospital received an intent to deny their competing projects from the state, but one of the two medical organizations plans to continue pursuing its proposal.
Plans for two competing proposals to build a freestanding emergency center in Frankfort were slowed, if not completely stopped, by two state review board votes on Tuesday. The proposals, which were submitted by Riverside Medical Center, of Kankakee, and Silver Cross Hospital, of New Lenox, were each issued an intent to deny at a Feb. 5 meeting of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. Riverside submitted a project application to the review board on Nov. 9, requesting to build a 10,000-square-foot, $10.3 million facility at the corner of Steger and La Grange Roads. Silver Cross submitted its application less than two weeks later, seeking approval for an $8.8 million emergency center that would be the same size as …

Proposals from Riverside Medical Center and Silver Cross Hospital were both issued an intent to deny at a state review board meeting Tuesday.
It appears that Frankfort will not be getting a freestanding emergency center anytime soon. Two competing medical organizations were both issued an intent to deny their respective proposals by the Illinois Health and Facilities Review Board at a meeting Feb. 5. Riverside Medical Center submitted its project application on Nov. 9, proposing a 10,000-square-foot, $10.3 million facility to be built at the corner of Steger Road and La Grange Road in unincorporated Frankfort. Silver Cross Hospital, based in New Lenox, applied to build an emergency center in Frankfort less than two weeks later, proposing a 10,000-square-foot, $8.7 million facility at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and 93rd Avenue. During each vote, board members repeatedly …
