Frankfort's Newly Elected Sen. Toi Hutchinson Drops Out of 2nd District Race
The state senator, whose 40th District now encompasses portions of Frankfort and New Lenox, has decided to stay put. She dropped out of the race for Jesse Jackson's Congressional seat.
Toi Hutchinson announced Sunday that she has withdrawn from the race for the 2nd Congressional District seat, and will be backing Robin Kelly to oppose former congresswoman Debbie Halvorson. The senator for Illinois' 40th District, which now encompasses portions of Frankfort and New Lenox, was elected Nov. 6 and announced only three weeks later a decision to throw her hat in the ring to represent the 2nd Congressional District.
