A Park Forest woman was arrested on Oct. 19 in Frankfort for allegedly damaging and attempting to steal clothing from a Kohl’s department store. Nena Phillips, 26, of the 100 block E. Sycamore Drive, was charged with retail theft, a felony, and criminal damage to property, a misdemeanor. An officer was called at 6 p.m. to the Frankfort Kohl’s store on the 1100 block of Lincoln Highway. When he arrived, a loss prevention officer had Phillips in custody for retail theft. Phillips had allegedly attempted to steal several jeans and shirts worth a total of $602. Phillips also allegedly removed the security sensors from the clothing, causing damage to the merchandise.
