Ex-Con Charged With Radio Shack Robberies Pleads Not Guilty

Reginald Taylor, 47, of Chicago has pleaded not guilty to felony charges in two separate armed robbery cases and was given a $500,000 bond.

A Chicago man charged with robbing at least two area Radio Shack stores has pleaded not guilty. Reginald Taylor, 47, was apprehended in Oak Lawn after holding police at bay with a handgun was charged with robbing the Frankfort Radio Shack. He had already faced robbery charges in connection with a Nov. 7 stickup at the Radio Shack on Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights.  Taylor has two cases with several felony charges, including armed robbery, being an armed habitual criminal possession/use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated robbery and aggravated unlawful restraint.  Cook County Judge John J. Hynes issued a $500,000 bond in the new cases when Taylor appeared in court on Thursday, Dec. 19. Taylor's most recent arrest was in violation of parole…

Frankfort Cops Charge Ex-Con With Radio Shack Robbery

The same Chicago man allegedly robbed two different Radio Shacks in a week before holding police at bay during an hour-long standoff.

An ex-con apprehended in Oak Lawn after holding police at bay with a handgun was charged with robbing the Frankfort Radio Shack. Reginald Taylor, 47, of 7121 S. Harvard Ave. in Chicago already faced robbery charges in connection with a Nov. 7 stickup at the Radio Shack on Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights. In that robbery, Taylor allegedly waited for customers to leave the Palos Heights Radio Shack and locked the store's front door. He then reportedly brandished a handgun, demanded cash and absconded with what employees gave up. Taylor headed from Palos Heights to Oak Lawn, where he went into another Radio Shack, police said. Reginald Taylor, 47, of the 7100 block of South Harvard, is charged with armed robbery. He is accused of drawing a gun on employees on Wednesday inside the Harlem Avenue electronics store. The Cook County States Attorney’s Office approved the charge on Friday. Two Radio Shack employees who were in the store when it was robbed at picked Taylor out of a lineup on Thursday, Palos Heights police said. This guy was a regular customer at speedway on harlem and benton where I used to work. Radio Shack Robbery Suspect Charged in Oak Lawn Standoff

Witnesses identify suspect from Frankfort and Palos Heights store robberies in police lineup at Oak Lawn police station where suspect was nabbed Wednesday after standoff, cops say.

A man suspected in several Southland Radio Shack armed robberies and who allegedly held Oak Lawn police at a bay with a gun was charged on Thursday with one count of a felon in possession of a firearm. Reginald Taylor, 47, of Chicago, is accused of barricading himself in residential stairwell armed with a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and threatening police. Oak Lawn police said that Taylor hid there after fleeing officers when an employee of the Radio Shack store in at 4819 W. 95th St. called to report a suspicious person. Bridal Shop a Total Loss in Wednesday's Extra-Alarm Blaze

Firefighters from 20 area fire departments battled an extra-alarm blaze that gutted the popular Eva's Bridal Shop and heavily damaged four other businesses on 95th Street in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN—A partially melted mannequin in a smoke-blackened wedding gown was about all that remained after an extra-alarm fire swept through a bridal shop and four other stores in the 4800 block of West 95th Street on Wednesday afternoon. The first call of trouble at Eva's Bridal Shop at 4811 W. 95th St. came in at 2:51 p.m. By the time Oak Lawn firefighters rolled up three minutes later, smoke was billowing out from the front and back of the store. "It was pretty intense," Oak Lawn Fire Chief George Sheets said. "We had to call a second alarm. We had exhausted all of our resources so we called for additional help."
