The first baby born at Silver Cross Hospital in 2013 is a boy. Joliet residents and proud parents Michelle Greaney and Joshua Dosek received an early New Year’s present—a new baby boy. With help from Michel Borders, M.D., obstetrician/gynecologist, baby Logan was born at 5:25 a.m. Jan 1, 2013 weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces and measuring 19 inches long, said Tracy Simons, community relations and marketing director at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. Joliet residents and proud parents Leticia Gonzales and Jerry Trejo received an early New Year’s present: a new baby boy, the first born at Silver Cross Hospital in 2012. With help from Dr. Jessica Shepard, an obstetrician and gynecologist at the Will County Health Department, baby Jerry Gustavo Trejo was born at 11:27 p.m. Jan. 1, 2012, weighing 7 1/2 pounds and measuring 19 1/2 inches. To celebrate, the Silver Cross Birthing Center staff filled a gift basket with an array of baby items, many donated by the hospital's Childerguild Gift Shop. Brayden Joshua McKinney was born at 5:49 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches tall. It was the first child for parents Jason and Bonnie McKinney, of Joliet. Jason McKinney works at Saint Joseph in the information technology department. Brayden was delivered by Dr. Brian Egan. According to the medical center, the happy family was surprised with the short labor and anticipates an exciting year. They were presented with a huge blue Teddy Bear and other items from the hospital to celebrate.
