Frankfort Resident Honored With Award for Walk MS Fundraising

Sylvia Kemp, of Frankfort, raised $27,000 to fight multiple sclerosis.

Frankfort resident Sylvia Kemp recently received the 2012 Walk MS Fundraising Impact Award for Walk MS Most Valuable Player, according to a media release from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Greater Illinois Chapter. Kemp was honored on Nov. 19 at the chapter’s Tremendous 200 Celebration. The award is given annually to the top Walk MS fundraisers and teams. Kemp hosted four separate Walk MS fundraisers in 2012 and raised more than $27,000 for Illinois residents with multiple sclerosis. Her Walk MS team ranked third overall, collecting more than $40,600 in donations. Multiple sclerosis affects more than 20,000 people in Illinois.
