Electricity Aggregation: Yes in Frankfort, No in Will County

Despite informational meetings and videos by the village and county, some voters said they weren't aware of the referendum.

Frankfort residents passed a referendum Tuesday that will allow the village to negotiate better electricity prices for them. But voters living in unincorporated Will County--which includes Frankfort Square--shot down their ballot measure on the same issue. The village's electricity aggregation referendum passed by a 61.13 percent margin (1,752 votes), while the county ballot item was defeated by a 59.49 percent margin (8,707 votes). Sue, Will County DID send out sample ballots! Don't know why you didn't get one. Plus, the Will County Clerk's website also had the appropriate sample ballots.   more ›
