When a Frankfort woman refused to have sex with Mark Loven, the Mokena man pulled her hair and screamed at her.
Mark Loven, 24, of the 9900 block of Sussex Court in Mokena, was charged with battery for insisting on sex from a 20-year-old Frankfort woman and then pulling her hair when she refused. According to police reports, Loven and the woman on Feb. 8 had left a home in the 10800 block of W. LaPorte Road; they were en route to a store for snacks. While the woman was driving, Loven reportedly insisted on sex. She refused. The woman, according to police, said when she refused the man, he grabbed her by the hair and attempted to bang her head into the steering wheel. She said Loven was screaming at her. The driver of a semi truck that rolled through downtown Mokena was issued citations after his 70,000-pound vehicle toppled a streetlight. Jason Allen Earls, 55, of the 60200 block of East 190 Road in Fairland, Oklahoma, is charged with driving an over-length vehicle on a non-designated roadway, driving off the roadway and leaving the scene of a property damage incident. Mokena police received reports of a hit-and-run involving a semi at 6:18 p.m. Jan. 4 at the intersection of Front Street and Wolf Road. Upon arriving at the site, police discovered the streetlight from the southwest corner of the intersection tipped over and lying on the sidewalk. Michael Matela was booked into Will County Jail pending several formal possession charges, none of which were filed, after a police traffic stop turned into a medical emergency.
Updated: 3:52 p.m. Thursday The Will County State's Attorney on Jan. 7 declined to file formal possession charges against Michael S. Matela, of Frankfort, after Mokena police performed a traffic stop on the car he was driving and discovered a man suffering from a heroin overdose in the car’s passenger seat. Formal charges for improper lane usage were filed against Matela. Matela was booked into Will County Jail on Jan. 4, pending formal charges for possession of a controlled substance, cannabis possession and paraphernalia possession. He appeared in Will County Circuit Court on Jan. 17, where he received a sentence of $185 in fines and three months supervision for improper traffic lane use. --- A Frankfort man faces felony drug charges …

Most of Frankfort's highest profile crimes of 2012 resulted in suspects being caught and taken to jail.
