Frankfort Home Sales Up from a Year Ago

Representatives from the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors say there are signs of market acceleration as many south suburbs experienced "notable sales gains" last month compared to one year ago.

Single-family home sales in the Chicago suburbs grew 33.2 percent in April 2013, compared to the same month in 2012, according to data provided by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). In the south suburbs, sales in the majority of Patch communities aligned with this trend, with 12 out of 14 towns experiencing an increase in sales and only two towns experiencing a sales decrease. In Frankfort, 15 homes were sold in April 2013—compared to 12 in April 2012. The median price dropped 11.6 percent, from $353,500 in 2012 to $312,500.  READ: NEW HOMES FOR SALE IN FRANKFORT. Frankfort Sees Annual Increase in Home Sales

Sales are up 25 percent in Frankfort. Representatives from the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors say affordable prices and low interest rates have created a "perfect storm" of buyer-friendly conditions.

Single-family home sales in the Chicago suburbs grew 41 percent in February 2013, compared to the same month in 2012, according to data provided by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). In the south suburbs, sales in the majority of Patch communities aligned with this trend, with 10 out of 14 towns experiencing an increase in sales, three towns experiencing a sales decrease and one town remaining the same year-over-year. Evergreen Park saw the most growth in the Southland, with 23 homes sold in February 2013 and only five homes sold one year prior, totaling a 360 percent increase in sales. January Home Sales: Frankfort Starts 2013 With Year Over Year Increase

Approximately 40 percent more homes were sold in Frankfort in January 2013 compared to January 2012, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The housing market in Frankfort saw a significant year over year increase in home sales in January 2013, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors. 17 homes were sold in Frankfort in January 2013, compared to 12 sold in January 2012, for a 41.7 percent increase year over year. Median home value in Frankfort decreased, however, dropping 5.9 percent, from $297,500 in January 2012 to $280,000 in January 2013. Frankfort Housing Market Sees Growth: December Home Sales

In Frankfort, 11 more homes were sold in December 2012 than in December 2011.

The 28 detached, single-family homes sold during December in Frankfort represented a 64.7 percent increase over sales during December 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). However, the median price of Frankfort homes sold in December ($330,000) was 1.5 percent lower than the median price of homes sold in December 2011 ($335,000). Frankfort Housing Market Sees Growth: November Home Sales

The median price of a home in Frankfort rose 10.7 percent in November compared to the same month last year.

The housing market experienced growth in Frankfort last month. A total of 20 homes were sold in the village in November 2012, a 17.7 percent increase over November 2011, when 17 homes were sold.  The median price of a home in Frankfort also rose, from $280,000 in November 2011 to $310,000 in November 2012, a 10.7 percent increase. Prices dropped as the Frankfort housing market grew in October.

The housing market in Frankfort experienced a slight growth in October compared to home sales in the village one year ago. The market grew by 15.8 percent last month, when 22 single-family homes were sold in Frankfort. 19 homes were sold in October 2011. Home prices in Frankfort experienced the greatest decrease in the Southland, dropping by 31.3 percent, from a median price of $310,000 in October 2011 to $213,000 in October 2012. Frankfort Home Sales Up 18.8% as Chicago Area Hits Six-Year High

The village's real estate market grew in September as the bulk of the Chicago area saw a bump in year-over-year comparisons. Check out the numbers and tell us what you think it means for the local housing market.

Home sales in the Chicago area during September were at a six-year high, according to a recent RE/MAX report—and most of the Southland saw a similar boost. Frankfort experienced some growth, with an 18.8 percent increase in the number of homes sold, from 16 homes sold in September 2011 to 19 homes sold in September 2012. Average sale price, however, decreased slightly, dropping 0.7 percent, from $331,031 in September 2011 to $328,805 in September 2012.
