Heroin at McDonald's Results in Felony Charges

An Alsip woman faces felony charges after reportedly acting strangely under the influence of heroin at a Frankfort McDonald’s. Ashley E. Wheeler, 21, of the 4400 block of W. 116th Place in Alsip, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of a narcotic instrument, a misdemeanor, following an incident that occurred at 6 p.m. Feb. 3 on the 7200 block of Lincoln Highway. Police were dispatched to the McDonald’s at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Harlem Avenue. The location manager told them that Wheeler had been sleeping in the restaurant, acting lethargic and walking back and forth from the bathroom to her table for the past three or four hours.
