Will County Police Blotter: Second Masked Robbery at Frankfort Circle K

Will County Sheriff's Office reports, Oct. 17-21 • Gold and Jewelry Stolen in Frankfort Break-In • Second Masked Robbery at Frankfort Circle K • Equipment Stolen from Electrician’s Truck in Mokena • Tools Stolen From Truck in Frankfort.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 17 Unknown persons broke into a residence on the 7500 block of W. Lakeside Drive in Frankfort. Gold coins and jewelry were stolen. THURSDAY, OCT. 18 Deputies responded at 4:26 a.m. to an armed robbery in progress at Shell Circle K at 7654 W. Lincoln Hwy in Frankfort. The attendant said that at 4:24 a.m. a man entered the store wearing a face-covering mask with eyes that looked like those of a bug or alien. The masked man pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at the attendant and placed a mesh bad on the store counter. The attendant gave the masked man approximately $120 from the register and the robber ran from the store. The masked man was described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and of a slender build. Man in Halloween Mask Robs Frankfort Gas Station

The robber was wearing a Freddy Krueger mask and in possession of a handgun.

A masked man carrying a handgun robbed a Frankfort area gas station early Wednesday morning, according to SunTimes Media. The man entered Circle K, at 7654 Lincoln Hwy, just before 2 a.m. According to SunTimes Media, he then approached the clerk, revealed a black handgun and demanded all the money in the register. The robber placed a black bag on the counter and the cashier deposited the money into the bag. The masked man then left the scene. The employee was not injured. Speedway to Buy Gas City Stations in Frankfort, Surrounding Area

The Ohio-based gas station and convenience store chain placed winning bids on Gas City properties throughout the South Suburbs.

Speedway LLC is the potential buyer of multiple Gas City stations in the area, including Frankfort, Mokena and New Lenox, according to court documents. Last week, the Frankfort-based Gas City auctioned off its 50 stations in Illinois, Indiana, Florida and Arizona as part of the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in order to pay off debts. On Wednesday, a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in Chicago will decide whether to approve the sale of those stations. After that, Gas City will work with the indivdual buyers to close the sales of the properties. Speedway, which is owned by Marathon Petroleum Co., is an Ohio-based chain of gas stations and convenience stores with locations throughout the Midwest. A spokesman for Speedway said he could not…
