Car Stolen From Driveway and Burned: Will County Police Blotter

Will County Sheriff's Office reports, Dec. 22 • Barn Bandits Steal ATV • Car Stolen From Driveway and Burned.

SATURDAY, DEC. 22 Unknown persons entered a barn on the 9800 block of W. Stuenkel Road in Green Garden and stole an ATV. Unknown persons stole a 2007 GMC Yukon from the driveway of a residence on the 92000 block of W. Magnolia in Mokena. Sheriff’s deputies received a call from Oak Forest Police on Dec. 25 stating that the vehicle had been recovered, although it had been burned. Police report information is provided by the Frankfort Police Department, Will County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. Police Blotter: Renting a Car Means You Need to Give It Back

SUNDAY, DEC. 18 About 23 cell phones were reported stolen from Cellular Connection, 31 Bankview Dr., to the Frankfort Police Department. A resident in the 8000 block of Farmhouse Road reported stolen a remote that operates the snow blade attached to the resident's vehicle to the Will County Sheriff's Office. The vehicle was unlocked, the report stated. Car Shop Owner Chases Down Stolen Camaro

Accused car thief beaten in the street at 80th Avenue and St. Francis Road, according to Will County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Crusing, 19, of the 20600 block of Ivy Path, was charged with car theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and criminal trespass to property, police said. He's accused of stealing 1979 brown Chevrolet Camaro from Auto Clinic, 7826 W. Lincoln Hwy. Auto Clinic's owner called deputies after watching surveillance video of two men entering and exiting three cars, then driving off in the Camaro. That evening, the owner saw the Camaro stopped at an intersection by Hot Grill restaurant in the 7800 block of West Lincoln Highway, said sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer.
