Cop Tases Frankfort Driver Who Tussled With Troopers After DUI Arrest

Even after being tased by a Tinley Park Police officer, Matthew Dyer, 20, of Frankfort, began spitting at Illinois State Police troopers, according to police reports.

A Tinley Park Police officer tased a Frankfort man who had been arrested by Illinois State Police on Sept. 26 after the man tried to get out of his cuffs and kick the arresting officers, according to a police report. Matthew W. Dyer, 20, of the 600 block of Hawthorne Drive in Frankfort, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, resisting a peace officer and possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana, according to Will County Sheriff's Office records. The possession charge was later dropped, but traffic charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane use were added, according to Will County Circuit Court records. Mokena Teen Killed in Homer Township Crash

A Mokena teen was killed when he was ejected from a vehicle that rolled over Tuesday night.

A 16-year-old boy was killed Tuesday night in a one-vehicle crash in Homer Township, the SouthtownStar is reporting. Will County sheriff's police said Jay Vana was found partially underneath a pickup that had left the road and rolled over. Vana, who had been a passenger, was ejected from the vehicle, the paper reported. He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where he was pronounced dead. Will County police were called at 8:38 p.m. to Lauffer and Haas roads. Upon arrival, a 16-year-old male from Lockport was found yelling for help. Initial investigation from Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division reported that it appears the truck attempted to turn south onto Haas Road and lost control. The driver was also transported to Silver …

Update: One Injured In Car Accident Near L-W East

A car accident near Lincoln-Way East High School shortly after 1 p.m. slowed traffic on La Grange Road Monday.

One person was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields with minor injuries after a multi-vehicle accident about 1:15 p.m. Monday. Frankfort police said the accident report was unavailable but Frankfort Fire District Assistant Chief Larry Rauch said was victim was transported by ambulance to St. James. The accident tied up the intersection of Colorado Street and La Grange Road for less than an hour. Witnesses on the scene said it appeared a vehicle attempting to turn left from La Grange Road onto Colorado and a northbound car struck each other. One vehicle was stuck in the middle of the intersection and the second car landed off the road. Both sustained heavy damage. A third car was also being towed from the scene of the crash. Follow…

Manhattan Man in Fatal Car Accident Identified

Manhattan resident Jake Stevens, 22, died in a Frankfort Township car accident. New Lenox man Kevin Krohn was driving the vehicle, and police suspect alcohol was involved in the crash.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the fatal car accident that killed a Manhattan man Saturday while the driver, a New Lenox man, escaped.  The accident occurred about 3:45 a.m. Aug. 25 in Frankfort Township. The passenger, 22-year-old Jake Stevens of Manhattan, died as a result of burns.  Stevens was a passenger in a car driven by Kevin Krohn, 22, of New Lenox, when the vehicle went off the road and hit an obstruction. Accident Blocks Traffic at I-80 and Harlem

Traffic was stop-and-go between Interstate 57 and 80th Avenue because of an accident that blocked the right lane of westbound traffic.

A two-car accident near Harlem Avenue and Interstate 80 in Tinley Park slowed traffic Monday morning. Manhattan Man Dies After 3-Car Accident in New Lenox

Bryan Bulger, 26, died after his car was rear-ended Wednesday night in New Lenox Township. Two other cars were involved in the accident.

A 26-year-old Manhattan man died Wednesday night following a three-car crash in New Lenox Township. Bryan L. Bulger was pronounced dead shortly after he was extricated from his car and airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital.  According to the Will County Sheriff's Department, Bulger and a 24-year-old female passenger were heading south on Cedar Road near Delaney Road in a black Chevy. Frankfort Teen Severely Hurt in ATV-Truck Crash

A 13-year-old Frankfort girl suffered a life-threatening injury after the ATV she was driving collided with a truck Thursday at 88th Avenue and Monee-Manhattan Road, the Will County Sheriff's Office reports.

2 Taken to Hospital After I-80 Accident

Traffic is stopped on Interstate 80 after a semi truck going west crossed the median and collided with another car, a witness said.

A semi truck collided with another car Monday morning on Interstate 80, closing down lanes and sending two people to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.  According to a witness on the scene, a truck headed westbound blew out a tire and crossed the median, hitting a car that was moving east. The accident occurred just east of Gougar Road in New Lenox.  The witness said an infant was removed from the car and appeared to be OK. Three Injured in Two-Car Accident on Sauk Trail

The accident happened after one car cut off another near the intersection of Sauk Trail and Andrews Way, a village fire department official said.

Three people were injured in a two-car accident Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Sauk Trail and Andrews Way, a Frankfort Fire Protection District official said. The three people—the driver and two passengers of one of the cars—were brought to St. James Hospital and Health Centers in Olympia Fields, said Battalion Chief Sean Fierce, adding he didn't know their conditions or where they were from. The three were still in the car when rescue crews arrived around 3 p.m. but conscious, Fierce said. Because of the damage to the car, firefighters needed to cut away a car door to remove one passenger, he said. Police Blotter: Frankfort Man Wanted on Reckless Homicide Warrant Turns Self In

TUESDAY, MAY 1 Police received a report stolen items from vehicles in a business parking lot in the 19900 block of LaGrange Road. MONDAY, APRIL 30 Stanislaw W. Wdowikowski, 27, of the 200 block of Pacific Street, turned himself in to police on an outstanding Will County warrant for felony reckless homicide and felony aggravated reckless driving. The warrant stems from a 2010 accident in Manhattan Township that killed one person and injured another. Wdowikowski was released on $10,000 bond, and his court date is May 30.
