FRANKFORT — Adam Grosch was given a 60-day break in pretrial hearings to catch up on evidence alleging that his new client, Brian Trainauskas, plotted to murder a Will County prosecutor in 2011 while sitting in jail. A private attorney, Grosch replaced the Will County Public Defender’s Office in May on one of two criminal cases against Trainauskas. Authorities also allege that he murdered Monica Timar in 2009. She was found wrapped in a comforter in the trunk of her Ford Mustang in the 21000 block of 78th Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head. Both cases are up again on Sept. 6. FRANKFORT — Private attorney Adam Grosch replaced the Will County Public Defender’s Office on Tuesday as counsel to Brian Trainauskas, a Frankfort Township man charged with solicitation of murder. Last year, authorities said Trainauskas was awaiting trial for the 2009 murder of Monica Timar when he tried enlisting his cellmate to kill a prosecutor and pin the Timar murder on someone else. The older case—in which he is being represented by private attorney George Andrews—remains at the appellate court level after Will County Judge Richard Schoenstedt ruled that Trainauskas’ Constitutional rights were violated during police interrogation. …

FRANKFORT — Testimony intended to show how William Jenkins was unlawfully arrested was continued to April 26 in Judge Sarah Jones’ courtroom. Jenkins, who is defending himself, was charged with residential burglary, theft and obstruction of identification following a residential burglary and lockdown of two Frankfort schools on a Friday morning late last year. He alleges that he was subjected to an unreasonable stop and search and began calling witnesses on Monday. FRANKFORT — A 2009 murder case involving a Frankfort Township man remains stalled at the appellate level. A state court will decide whether Brian Trainauskas’s constitutional right to counsel was denied during portions of a police interrogation. The Will County Sheriff’s Department charged Trainauskas with two counts of first-degree murder and concealment of a homicide after he allegedly gave conflicting statements about finding the lifeless body of Monica Timar in his bathroom.
