State's Attorney Glasgow Lends Hand to Downtown Joliet Blood Drive

The Taylor Babec Community Blood Drive is set for Jan. 30.

The following was provided by the Will County State's Attorney's office. The author, Charles B. Pelkie, is the office's director of public affairs.  Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow is pleased to announce that his office once again is partnering with Heartland Blood Centers and Joliet mom Jennifer Babec to host a blood drive in downtown Joliet. The next Taylor Babec Community Blood Drive will be from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Will County State's Attorney's Office, 121 N. Chicago Street, across the street from the historic Rialto Square Theatre. Anyone who works in or visits downtown Joliet is encouraged to take 30 minutes to donate blood on Jan. 30. Walsh Voted President of Metro Counties   JOLIET – Will County Executive Larry Walsh has been elected president of Metro Counties of Illinois, a consortium of the 14th largest counties in the state.      Walsh was elected at the group’s Monday, Jan. 24, meeting. He succeeds Suzi Schmidt of Lake County, who was elected to the State Senate. He had been the group’s vice president for four years. Walsh also served as a State Senator from 1997 to 2005. “I am honored to be chosen president of this organization,” said Walsh. “Metro Counties works on issues important to all of its members.
