Readers' Choice: Where's Your Favorite Place to Watch a Sox or Cubs Game in Frankfort/Mokena?

Just because you can't make it out to The Cell or Wrigley doesn't mean you can't enjoy the next best thing: Catching the action at a local bar or restaurant. Where's your favorite spot in Frankfort or Mokena?

Baseball season is still fairly new, which means the Cubs and the White Sox still have a chance of getting to the postseason. Of course, not everyone can make it out to the ballpark, but that doesn't mean you have to miss your favorite team play. That's why satellite TV was invented. Which begs the question: Where's your favorite bar or restaurant in Frankfort or Mokena to watch the Cubs and/or the Sox? At Patch, we want readers to tell us what bar or restaurant is their favorite when it comes to watching the White Sox or the Cubs. Vote for your favorite one in our poll and share with readers why you like it in the comments section. One Patch user who leaves a review will be randomly chosen to win a Patch T-shirt. Voting ends 9 p.m. Sunday…

Nominate your favorite bartender as a Patch Bartender MVP, and he or she might be profiled.

If the job of a good bartender was easy, every tavern you frequent would simply have self-serve booze dispensers. At Patch, we want to spotlight those bartenders who know how to serve up a drink the way you like it and still have time to shoot the breeze with you. That's why we want you to nominate your stylist for our Bartender MVP. Tell us why you're loyal to him or her and what keeps you coming back in our comments section. YOUR TURN: Tell Us Who Your Favorite Stylist in With Our Salon MVP While you're at it, give a shout out to the bar and restaurant your favorite bartender works at in our Patch Places business directory. Where's Your Top Local Nightspot? Readers Review Their Favorite Bars

Just about every Frankfort resident has that place where everyone knows your name. Now it's your turn to tell us about that special tavern and why you enjoy frequenting it.

Like most Americans--nay, like most residents of Mother Earth--we like to think that Frankfort Patch readers love the nightlife (we won't, however, vouch for readers' desires to boogie on the disco 'round). READ: New Restaurants Receive Rave Reviews From Readers It's no French Quarter, but Frankfort has a nice mix of bars and lounges where you can enjoy a nice adult beverage and pass the moonlit hours with friends. In fact, a couple of readers have already written reviews for village pubs. So There on Old Plank Trail Tavern: Great, friendly place. (4 stars) Denise Du Vernay on Pete Mitchell's Bar & Grill: I love this place--cheap and tasty lunch specials, get-your-own refills on pop, and really friendly bartenders make this a great place…

Chowdown Showdown

Getting Buzzed With the Best Specialty Martinis in Lincoln-Way

For this week's challenge, our taster went to three area bars and asked the bartender to give her their customers' favorite specialty martini.

Your local editors took off from dining out this week, and instead we're re-posting this Chowdown Showdown from March. Read our reviews below, learn how to post your own and comment for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. The idea of a "martini menu" is a sacrilegous concept to many drinkers and mixologists: Purists (and my dad) will tell you that the word "martini" should only be used to describe a drink made with gin, vermouth and olives. More and more, however, bars are inventing lots of colorful, fun drinks shaken and served in martini glasses, which they then refer to as martinis. For this week, I went to three area places and asked for  the most popular drink off their martini menus. For this showdown, I'm judging …
