Also a point to consider: For those of you worried about the "higher drug trafficking theseRead More events bring," 1) Do some homework, if you look at drug arrests for any festival or concert, you will see a pretty stable trend among all of these types of events, you can't avoid it, and it's going to be everywhere anyways, so get over it. For all you know, your next door neighbor could be the largest meth kingpin in the Chicagoland area. 2) The media has a hold on your brain and doesn't want to let it go. These events don't make kids and adults take drugs, it's their choice to do so, if you have to have drugs to enjoy the music then fine, but that's not going to affect my opinion of the event, that person taking the drugs, or the music any more or less. If the media announced that by jumping off a cliff would be a 100% surefire way to prevent cancer (because you'd be jumping to your imminent death) would you do it? NO! Even though the statistic is true doesn't mean it's a good thing to do. So if you listen to everything the media says, than screw you because you have become incapable of thinking for yourself, and forming your own opinion.

This whole thing just makes me angry! My son & his friends went there & had a great time!Read More They paid over $200 a piece for their tickets. So to the woman who asked if these kids live off their parents & all the other judgmental comments...you are a condescending, bitter, hateful woman! I'm so sick & tired of all these uninformed & uneducated people passing judgment on this generation! They all are not bad! Those that are bad, rude & disrespectful come from parents just like you! And John Wayne, how dare you hide behind a mans name that was a decent person. You are a coward! Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't have these patrons spent money in your county? 90,000 people x $5.00 = $450,000 for just 1 day. Seems like Joilet made some profit. You would think with the economy being as bad as it right now, you would be thankful! Yet you wanna complain about the noise? I just don't get it! What is wrong with you? Are you so miserable that you have to make others just as unhappy? I'm in my 40s and I truly wish they had this when I was young! I think you need to quit your belly aching & let these people enjoy 3 days of fun on a holiday weekend. They work hard & deserve it! I hope the committee on the city board tells you all to grow up & show some respect to this younger generation. Other than the music being loud you have not one bad thing to say about the 90,000 people there that respected your city while there! SHAME ON YOU!!!

Michele - Would your son and his friends NOT of had a good time if the EDC ended at midnight? I wasRead More bothered by the noise until 4am, Friday night-Saturday morning, but the winds changed and I didn't hear anything Saturday-Sunday. I find it interesting that you assume someone is miserable because they complained about the noise. I'm not a miserable person, but I can say as the "thumping" of the music kept me awake until almost 4am, I was pretty unhappy. I am not opposed to the EDC returning, but I would appreciate if there were some simple changes, the first being it ends at midnight. I live close enough to the track to hear the Nascar races, heck I hear test and tune if the wind is blowing East, but they end at decent times and if they don't, they are fined! To be 100% honest, I don't have a problem with the people who were arrested, good for the Police for doing their job. I don't have a problem with the number of overdoses either .... you do drugs, you overdose, and maybe you die ..... I could care less. The City of Joliet made a lot of money (which they desperately need) and a lot of people had a great weekend, but its selfish of you Michele to say too bad for those of us who were disturbed by the event. I'm all for bringing the event back, maybe it will help the City of Joliet climb its way out of the toilet bowl, but change the hours, lower the volume and everybody wins.
Thanks Joliet May 29, 2013 at 04:10 pm
and Joliet is >40 miles from downtown Chicago. hmm...

I don't consider the 30 somethings old. Now you're going to say older people can't have jobs? YouRead More just want it all. Do you want their life savings too? Are you entitled to that?
Monica Moni Hurley May 30, 2013 at 04:25 am
ALL of u NL people are just mad because JOLIET made the Money!!!! That's all it boils down to!! YouRead More are all a bunch of snooty snobs!!! If its not about you or something you like or can benefit from, then u do this...COMPLAIN!!! LET JOLIET HAVE THIS!!!! You all complain that Joliet is nothing but gangs, violence, and murders....WELL THIS HAD NONE OF THAT!!!!! So just STOP COMPLAINING!!! Because no matter what you say or do, if JOLIET made the Money that they expected to make from this or more for that matter...and if JOLIET wants EDC back....Then EDC WILL BE BACK!!!!! No Petitions, complaints, etc. can stop JOLIET from doing what JOLIET wants to do!!! New Lenox is just Jealous because FINALLY JOLIET has something GOOD going for them!!! Like most people in this blog/forum has said......GET OVER IT...ITS 3 DAYS OUT OF THE WHOLE YEAR!!!!! Lets see how much you...or for that matter... JOLIET complains about YOUR RACES that come here EVERY Month of the Summer for a whole weekend!!! The Races clutter the roads with traffic EVERYWHERE....But do u see us "JOLIET PEOPLE" complaining?!?!? NO!!!! I am a person who works midnights and u say well the races end at 10-11pm. OK...But while the races are making their "NOISE" from 11am until 10pm. I AM TRYING TO SLEEP for my JOB!!!!!! But I don't go around complaining to every police dept. and news station!!! Plain and simple....IF ITS NOT SUMTHING YOU NEW LENOX PEOPLE LIKE OR ARE NOT BENEFITTING FROM....YOU ARE SOME GROUCHY, SNOBBY COMPLAINERS!!!!! POINT BLANK...PERIOD!!!!!!! GET OVER IT!!!!!!

She was spotted last night around midnight in the small subdivision just west of the cvs on LagrangeRead More and Laporte. The subdivision that is on the south side of laporte. When I called for her, she took off running west, I'm assuming back into the preserve. That means she has been staying in the vicinity of hickory creek preserve for the last 5 days or so. We have gotten numerous sightings of her near the preserve.

@Ann FYI - I can't vote. I've never been on the site before. I clicked on the link and its tellingRead More 'I voted today and can't vote again until tomorrow' Not sure if its a glitch but someone may want to inform them.
allison April 23, 2013 at 02:38 pm
Are you voting from home or work or somewhere else? It goes by IP address so if your somewhere whereRead More someone may already voted from that server it won't let you until 24 hours vote again. Thanks for trying ...if you are voting from home let me know and I will contact NMEdA

That's a great idea
kim wilschek April 11, 2013 at 12:30 pm
the link with the contest is very confusing. It doesn't say anywhere in the voting section that theRead More prize is a wheelchair. In fact, when you look at the list of prizes, most of them are wheelchair accommodating vehicles. Please clarify - it would be helpful to know exactly what they are hoping to win so that we can help.
allison April 14, 2013 at 05:26 am
The article is supposed to read wheelchair accessible van...we apologize for the confusion...theyRead More left the end words out. Bella is 7 and is getting very hard to transfer to the car ...we have to fold her up..and her wheelchair doesn't fit in the car. So it's hard to get her to therapies, drs appts. Etc...thanks for voting...we appreciate the support..the Bryas
