Down Home Guitars

Flag as Inappropriate

After searching much of Chicagoland, the owners of Down Home Guitars chose their site in The Trolley Barn in downtown Frankfort. As its name indicated, Down Home Guitars offers a large selection of new and used acoustic and electric acoustic guitars. The two showrooms are also filled with stringed instruments of many types, including banjos, mandolins, ukeleles, upright basses and children's guitars. Instruments line the walls, and customers are allowed to test them out, but staff assistance is required. The store in this historic building includes a room for jam sessions and concerts. Hardwood floors throughout the store offer ambiance and acoustics. The employees are knowledgeable and play many of the instruments themselves. Down Home Guitars also hosts bluegrass jam sessions and offers lessons in guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin and bluegrass guitar.
