Halloween Church Fest, Ghosts on the Green and a Food Drive This Weekend

This weekend in Lincoln-Way has a real Halloween feel.

The week has come to a close, and with fall in full swing you're probably thinking about what events are happening this weekend. It’s OK. You can be honest with us.

That’s why every week we give you a list of things to do in and around the area. Thank us later.

Friday

SHINE Fest at New Life Church

New Life Church in New Lenox will host an evening of trunk-or-treating and other seasonal festivities for the community. Families are invited to come to New Life Church from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a costume parade, hot dog supper,  theme photos, crafts, prizes, and best of all … Halloween candy from more than 50 decorated trunks.

Saturday

Ghosts Around the Green

The Frankfort Historic Business Association will host Ghosts around the Green, its family Halloween event from noon to 3 p.m. on Breidert Green. New this year, kids will be invited to find the hidden ghost hanging in each participating merchant shop. Spot the ghost and get a treat! Complimentary hay wagon rides, apple cider and popcorn will also be available.

Sunday

Scare Away Hunger Food Drive

Girl Scout troop 70475 will be hosting the "Scare Away Hunger" food drive at the New Lenox Wal-Mart to benefit the Frankfort Township Pantry. The girls will be collecting food from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please come out and say "boo" and help them help the community.
