Bike Your Way Around Hickory Creek

Outside fun is the theme for the weekend in the Lincoln-Way communities.

The fifth annual Cruise the Creek is a free family bike ride and festival hosted by the Forest Preserve District of Will County. It runs from New Lenox through Mokena and parts of Frankfort.

The event is free. On-site registration will open at noon on Saturday, Oct. 5.

It's planned from noon-5 p.m. and begins at Hickory Creek Barrens Nature Preserve.  Parking is available at Hickory Creek Junction, 2759 E. Lincoln Highway. The bike ride will take place on two-loop trail. Riders can choose either a six-mile loop or an 11-mile loop, according to the Forest Preserve District of Will County website
