Win Dinner and Fight Cancer by Making a Patch Editor Bald

The St. Baldrick's fundraiser is Sunday, March 25, and Frankfort Patch editor Joe Vince needs $210 to lose his red locks. Find out what you can do to make sure he goes under the razor and help a good cause at the same time.

I'm not going to beat around the bush: I need your money.

Frankfort's St. Baldrick's Foundation Fundraiser at is Sunday, March 25, which is just around the corner, and I'm still shy of my goal to raise $250. Well shy, in fact. I've only raised $40, thanks to the generosity of Mayor Jim Holland. But that's not enough to hit the $100 mark where I shave off my facial hair.

I've been spending the past few weeks growing my hair out, trying on different hats in anticipation of going bald (I'm thinking of going the pork pie route so I can achieve a Walter White from Breaking Bad look) and reassuring my girlfriend that I don't have any weird tattoos or misshapen bumps hidden beneath my red hair. You wouldn't want all that time and energy to go to waste, now would you?

But if that's not enough incentive, I'm going to sweeten the pot for contributors in order to reach my $250 goal, which in turn will help St. Baldrick's reach its own goal of $10,000. As of early Thursday morning, the total for the event, which is organized by the , was $9,288.

So here's the deal: Anyone who donates to my goal between now and 5 p.m. Saturday, March 24, will be put in a drawing to win a $50 gift card to the Frankfort restaurant of his or her choice.

HOWEVER, the person who donates $210 in one lump sum so I can hit my goal in one contribution will win the gift card outright, along with some Patch gear. (In case more than one person donates this amount, the winner will be chosen randomly between those contributors.)

Plus, if you contribute any amount and also sign up for the Frankfort Patch newsletter, you will receive some Patch swag when you forward me your name and your newsletter confirmation e-mail.

WATCH:

You can't beat those enticements, added to the great feeling you'll get from helping a good cause and seeing a Patch editor with one of the palest bald heads known to man.

Here's how you can get involved if you're interested in donating or helping out with the event:

I'll be posting updates on Frankfort Patch and the site's Facebook page. And check in Monday to see if I reached my goal and went under the clippers at Sunday's event.
