Griffins Varsity Boys Golf Wins Oswego Panther Stableford

The Griffins opened their 2013 season on August 20th with a bang by traveling to Blackberry Oaks Country Club and winning the nine team Oswego Panther Stableford Tournament.  In a Stableford format, players earn points for eagles, birdies, pars, and bogeys.

The Griffins were led by Junior, Jake White who contributed 32 points which included a dramatic hole- in-one on the 158 yard 12th hole.  Senior Matt Contey added 18 points as the Griffins accumulated a total of 75 total points to take the tournament championship over the host Panthers who finished second overall with a total of 56 points. Yorkville finished third with 52 points.

The Griffins will next be in in action on Monday August 26th against the Oswego Panthers at Blackberry Oaks Country Club in Oswego and then again on Tuesday the 27th at Ravisloe Country Club in a 4 team match with Homewood Flossmoor, Lincoln-Way West, and Sandburg.
