the Lincolnway Special Recreation Foundation (LWSRF) has announced the 4th annual Bunny Breakfast. This family event, which begins at 8am and goes until 11am is in support of a special recreation center to be build in New Lenox for the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA).

The Bunny Breakfast will include pancakes and sausage served continuously inside the Lincoln - Way East cafeteria. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance for photo shoots with children. There will also be arts and crafts projects put on by the Girl Scouts of America and Easter Egg Hunts for different age groups;

  • 9:15am – 9:25am 6 to 10 year olds
  • 9:30am – 9:40am 11 to 15 year olds

Tickets for the Bunny Breakfast are now on sale at the LWSRA office (21800 South LaGrange Road, Frankfort, IL 60423) and online (http://2012bunnybreakfast.eventbrite.com) for $9 for adult and $6 for children (3 -15 years of age). All children 2 years and under are free.

The LWSRF was formed in 2008 and was created to service the LWSRA which provides over 200 social and recreational opportunities a year for individuals with special needs in Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, Peotone, Manhattan, and beyond. The LWSRA just received a grant of $2.5 million from the Department of Natural Resources to build a recreation facility at Heather Glen Park in New Lenox off of Laraway Road. They’re current goal is to raise over $700,000 to help fund this project.

Tickets purchased the day of the event are for a slightly higher fee of $10 per adult and $7 per child. Last year's Bunny Breakfast saw over 200 people in attendance and LWSRA recommends that tickets be purchased in advance.
