The 13th annual will take place in Frankfort's this Wednesday evening.
Participants can sign up for the event by paying a $19 fee on or before Tuesday, June 19. There is a $25 fee for racers who sign-up on the day of the event.

"In 2011, we had a record number of runners at 397, so we are hoping for close to 350 to 400 runners and walkers again this year," said Short Run on a Long Day 5K Run/Walk administrator Cali DeBella, who is in her third year organizing the event. DeBella also is the special events coordinator for the , which sponsors the event.
Water will be available to runners and walkers throughout the 3.1-mile-course. Once the race is over, there will be an awards presentation, music and food including pizza for runners only.
Trophies will be given to overall male and female winners, along with medals for all first place finishers in each age group male and female, according to DeBella.
"This year, the race is back to the 'Longest Day of the Year', and we are using [micro]chip timing instead of pull tabs," DeBella said on what makes this year's race special.
