Rain Doesn't Spoil 1st Day of Bluegrass Festival (Photos)

We capture the fun festival-goers had Saturday at the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival on Breidert Green. Check out our photo gallery of the opening day of the outdoor music event.

A few sporadic showers weren't enough to dampen the performances at the second annual Frankfort Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, July 14, on .

Rain and lightning briefly suspended the festival around 4 p.m., but the musical acts were back onstage in less than an hour.

Before and after, festival-goers not only enjoyed bluegrass music, but were entertained by cloggers from New Lenox. Kids got to compete in a frog-jumping contest, as well as hula hoop, do crafts and get their face painted. A "pickers' tent" also was set up to let musicians of any skill level play with one another.
