VIDEO: Mayor Preps for His Pro Baseball Debut

Before the throws out the first pitch at the Joliet Slammers game Friday, Mayor Jim Holland practiced with a member of L-W North's championship baseball team.

As part of , Mayor Jim Holland has the honor of throwing out the first pitch. 

If you're any kind of sports fan, you know that honor can quickly turn into a horror if you end bouncing the ball to home plate. Or even worse. Baseball history--and YouTube--is littered with examples of famous people tarnishing their images by not being able to throw a baseball 60 feet before a crowd of thousands

To make sure Holland didn't become a part of that ignoble list, Frankfort Patch invited the mayor out to 's baseball diamond to practice his throws with senior Alex Lesiak, a pitcher for the state champion Phoenix.
