Lincoln-Way East Cheerleaders Capture IHSA State Championship

It's a good day to be a Lincoln-Way East cheerleader.
After posting the top score in their division on the first day of competition, the Griffins put forth another top-notch routine in the final round and held on to capture the 2014 IHSA Large Division Cheerleading State Championship at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill.
The team's final score of 97.06 bested runner-up Neuqua Valley's 95.00, and third-place finisher Providence Catholic's 93.94.
The Griffins cheerleaders toppled their competition in preliminary rounds of IHSA finals Friday, finishing at the top of their division.
