Football: 3 Lincoln-Way Teams Play in IHSA Quarterfinals Saturday

Cheer on the Griffins, Warriors and Phoenix as they make their next high school football playoffs push on Saturday.

The Lincoln-Way East Griffins, Lincoln-Way West Warriors and Lincoln-Way North Phoenix all have made it to the quarterfinals in 2013 IHSA football playoffs.

The Griffins go into Saturday’s match against the undefeated Edwardsville Tigers after pushing past the Oswego East Wolves last week, winning 57-40. The game will start at 3 p.m. at Edwardsville High School, 6161 Center Grove Rd, Edwardsville.

The Warriors are also facing an undefeated team, the Sycamore Spartans, on their field. The Warriors go into Saturday’s battle after completely shutting down Glenbard South in the second round last week, winning 46-0. The game will be played 1 p.m. Saturday at Sycamore High School, 555 Spartan Trail in Sycamore.

The Phoenix are facing a local contender in the Richards Bulldogs in Oak Lawn on Saturday. The Phoenix head into the quarterfinals Saturday after keeping Rich Central at bay, winning 38-6. Both the Phoenix and the Bulldogs have one loss each for the season. The game starts 6 p.m. at Harold Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn.
