Lincoln-Way North to launch Homecoming Week with parade

Lincoln-Way North High School will kick off its Homecoming week with a community parade Sunday, Oct. 3, featuring hundreds of student athletes, academic teams, marching bands and community organizations.

"The parade offers us the opportunity to come together as a community," said Lincoln-Way North Principal Michael Gardner. "We are pleased that several community groups have once again joined us for the parade. Special thanks to the Frankfort Square Park District, Frankfort Township Road District and the Will County Sheriff's Department for their extended efforts on behalf of our community."

Among those participating in the crowd will be the school's cheerleaders, poms, student council, Marching Phoenix, Mathletes, Key Club and Future Farmers of America as well as the Frankfort Square Wildcats Football Association and the Summit Hill Junior High School Marching Band.

Tuesday is Tropical Shirt Tuesday; Wednesday is Camera Day; Thursday is Class Color Day and Friday is Phoenix Phriday with students and staff dressing up in the school's colors.

At an all-school pep assembly on Oct. 8, students and staff will gear up for the big game featuring North's undefeated football team and the Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers.

The festivities will conclude Oct. 9 with the annual homecoming dance. The theme is "Welcome to the Space Jam."
