GSU Hosts Spring Regional Table Tennis Tournament

Collegiate table tennis competition comes to Governors State University on Saturday, Feb. 19, with the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association Regional Tournament.

More than 50 competitors from eight schools will compete for the regional championship and the chance to attend the National Championship in April.

Athletes are expected from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Illinois-Chicago, and new table tennis powerhouse, Governors State University, which won the regional tournament in November.

Also attending are Northwestern, Purdue, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Michigan Technological University. University of Chicago’s attendance is still pending.

 The competition begins at 9:30 a.m. with the opening ceremony and will last all day with a break at noon for lunch. Spectators are welcome and admission is free.
