Kelly Sterling has burst onto the scene in impressive fashion for the Lincoln-Way East girls golf squad.
It hasn’t taken long for freshman Kelly Sterling to make a name for herself on the high school golf scene.
In her debut, she fired a 76, taking third place overall in the Marian Catholic Tournament.

Recent triumphs included medalist honors in wins over Joliet Central and Lincoln-Way Central, a team-best score in the Homewood-Flossmoor Invite, and an under-par round against Lincoln-Way West.
The only thing to slow her last week was the weather. On Monday, she shot a 36 on the back nine of the South Course at Silver Lake to help the Griffins beat Sandburg, 164-170. She was ready to play on Wednesday at Green Garden in Frankfort, but the poor weather forced the meet to be canceled.
