Scouts Share the Gift of Life

The Cub Scouts are teaming up with Heartland Blood Centers for a heartwarming 2-day event. On Thursday, October 24th (11:30am-7:00pm) & Saturday, October 26th (7:00am-2:30pm) Cub Scout Pack 237 will be hosting their first blood drive to show their support to their community at the Heartland Blood Center in Frankfort located at 107 Bankview Drive (off LaGrange, across from Old Plank Trail Bank).

Heartland is an independent not-for-profit blood center serving 49 hospitals in a 12 county area including Kane, McHenry, DeKalb, Will, DuPage, Cook, Grundy, Kendall, Lee, Ogle and LaSalle counties in Illinois, and Lake county in Indiana. Heartland Blood Centers' first commitment is always to meet local blood needs. This means that 100% of blood donated is returned to the communities served by Heartland. The Cub Scouts don't meet the minimum age requirement in order to donate blood so this is why they are calling upon the community to lend a hand. Just three of the core values that the Scouts emphasize include citizenship, compassion and being resourceful. This blood drive allows the scouts an opportunity to strengthen connections to their local communities, which in turn support the boys’ growth and development.

The Red Cross notes "every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood". Please make your appointment today by calling Norma @ 630-301-6178 or visit the Heartland Blood Center website @ www.heartlandbc.org. Tell them "the scouts sent you". Walk-ins are welcome and bring a friend! Please help the scouts save lives in our community.
