It's that time of year…. We're getting ready for Jack's 4th Annual Cupcake/Lemonade Stand to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation Saturday, May 19, 2012 11:00am-2:00pm 7944 W. Laurel Drive, Frankfort.
POTCF is a nonprofit organization that benefits children who are cancer patients—giving age-appropriate toys as a reward for having the courage to undergo painful but necessary treatments. Our family was made aware of the Treasure Chest when Jack was treated for a blood virus (ITP) at Hope Children's Hospital in 2008. In 2008 the Treasure Chest expanded their gift giving to the Hematology Clinic at Hope where Jack was receiving his treatments. Jack had many blood tests and each time he had his blood taken he was given a prize from the Treasure Chest. The fear of needles became less and less because Jack knew when he was done there would be a toy waiting for him as a reward. It's amazing the healing power that comes from a toy.
Since 2009 Jack's Stand has raised over $6,000 for the Treasure Chest. It is so touching to have family, friends and neighbors pack into our front yard and give us a hand with bringing so much to the Treasure Chest. The support that we receive is unbelievable!!
We hope you can come on out to support Jack and the Treasure Chest. Our goal is to present a new cupcake every 20 minutes throughout the sale which include…Cherrilicious, German Chocolate, Lemon Supreme, Mint Chocolate, Bubble Gum, Pink Lemonade and themed cupcakes "Under The Sea", "Flower Garden" & "Ore-Ohhhh" . Our cupcakes get fancier and fancier so this year will be a real treat. This is also the same day as the community garage sale in Frankfort so you can do some shopping and stop in for a tasty treat.
