Whiz Kids: Local Kids Win at State Science Fair

Whiz Kids' Names: Abbie Hasson, Kaitlyn Hailey, Kayla Groen, Max Vaundry and Brianna McKenna

Accomplishments: Seventh graders Abbie Hasson and Kaitlyn Hailey won Silver Awards; seventh graders Kayla Groen and Max Vaundry won Gold Awards and eighth grader Brianna McKenna won a Gold Award.

Key to Awesomeness: The Whiz Kids all developed their own science projects to take to state competition after winning at the local level. The students were honored at a recent Frankfort School District 157-C board meeting.

Eighth grader McKenna told the board, "We had to work really hard to make sure our reports were in order and our experiments were precise."

Superintendent Thomas Hulburt, and the rest of the board, personally congratulated the two winners who were present at the meeting, McKenna and Vaundry.
