Watch: Wittman's Air Assault Downs Stagg

Senior QB Jake Wittman throws three touchdown passes as Lincoln-Way North rolls over Stagg 35-17 in the last game of the regular season.

In the final game of the regular season, Lincoln-Way North marched into Stagg behind the arm of Jake Wittman and downed the Chargers 35-17 in a Southwest Suburban Red Conference matchup.

It was Stagg that stepped up to the plate defensively early in the game as the Chargers picked off Wittman and forced a fumble in the first quarter. But Wittman made up for his miscue soon after by finding Jake Dixon for a 22-yard touchdown to start the scoring.

The Phoenix then forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff to set up a second Wittman touchdown pass--this time covering 10 yards to junior wide receiver Conor McDonald.

The L-W North defense flexed its muscle in the last minute of the half as the Phoenix held Stagg on the goal line, forcing the Chargers to kick a field goal to bring the halftime score to 14-3.

In the third quarter, Stagg found the end zone on a 19-yard run by junior running back Vito Cali. But L-W North battled right back as Wittman found Dan Moore for a 10-yard touchdown. Dixon added another score at the end of the third quarter to increase the Phoenix lead to 28-10.
