Lincoln-Way East is presenting Charley's Aunt as their 2013 fall play three times this coming weekend for students and the community to attend.

Charley's Aunt will be presented at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 and again at 2 p.m. Oct.5 in the East Fine Arts Center. Tickets are available at the door for $5.

"This fun play tells the story of Jack Chesney and Charley Wykeham, two undergraduates at Oxford University, who are in love. However, neither of them knows how to express his love and hopeful plans for the future to his girl until Jack comes up with a plan," said Hilary Gansauer, Lincoln-Way East English teacher and director of the East Theatre Company.

Gansauer continues, "It just so happens that Charley's aunt, a wealthy widow from Brazil, is visiting that very day. So the young men decide why not have a luncheon for the girls and Charley's Aunt? The two students decide to invite Lord Fancourt Babberley to entertain the aunt while they entertain the girls. But all plans go awry when the aunt telegraphs she won't be arriving for a few more days, and the boys realize the girls won't come without a chaperone."

As the story goes, noted Gansauer, "Lord Fancourt enters wearing women's clothing, he is trying out for a theatrical review. Jack immediately seizes him, calls him Charley's Aunt, the girls arrive and are let in, and Fancourt, not used to his new role, is suddenly forced to masquerade as the doting aunt from Brazil."

Lincoln-Way East cast members are: Sean Gallagher, Greg Alberts, Jacob Pieczynski, Sara Groth, Luiza Vitucci, Corbin Moore, Ryan Alberts, Casey Cassello, Maddie Freeland, Kiya Ford, and Moira Thompson.

The box office opens approximately 30 minutes before show time.
