Summit Hill School District 161 Board Member George Perros resigned his position for health reasons. Perros filed a letter of resignation on Sept. 6.
Perros was first elected to a four-year-term in April 2011. The term expires in April 2015.
The District is accepting applications to fill his seat until 5 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Administrative Center, 2001 S. Spruce Drive. Candidates can also send their documentation in an email to Supt. Barbara Rains at firstname.lastname@example.org. The board is planning to appoint a new member from the submitted applications at its Oct. 23 meeting.
What's the process for candidates?
- Submit a letter of intent to the District.
- Fill out a questionnaire that delves a bit more into your reason for seeking a seat on the board, such as your history of participation at the district and on a community-wide level; what experiences and unique qualities you have to offer; and how you envision your role as a board member.
Candidates will be called for an interview at a special board meeting. No date has yet been set.
