More Staff Hirings on Agenda for D161 Board

Summit Hill school district still has principal openings to fill at Dr. Julian Rogus and Arbury Hills schools.

The board of education for could fill two remaining principal positions at its meeting Wednesday, July 11, according to the agenda.

Currently, the district has open principal spots at and schools. Last month, the board approved the hiring of Pam Hodgson and Dana Wright as the new principal and assistant principal, respectively.

Those hirings come on the heels of caused by . Here's the current principal assignments for the district's schools:

  • Summit Hill: Hodgson
  • Hilda Walker: Michael Ruffalo
  • : Jason Isdonas
  • : Dan Pierson
  • Arbury Hills: Prinicipal position open
  • Rogus: Kathy Klein the former principal at , will be the co-prinicipal at Rogus with another administrator not yet hired.

Before its regular meeting, the board will hold a special meeting with the only business agenda item being a closed session to discuss personnel matters. Presumably, board members will be interviewing candidates for the open principal positions, much like they did in June. By law, the board must handle the discussion of personnel matters in closed session. No action can be taken during closed session and must be done during an open, public meeting.

The D161 board's regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the district's administrative offices. The special meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the same location. You can read the agendas for both meetings in this article's media gallery.
