"Thank you to the United States Marine Corps and all of our Armed Forces," Zvonar said during an awards ceremony on Feb. 8 in Oak Brook. "I know I speak on behalf of all the men here today when I say we are forever grateful for the sacrifices you make so that we can enjoy the special freedoms that we have in our great nation."

Two of Zvonar's top players—quarterback Tommy Fuessel and running back/wide receiver Justin Corbett—recently signed national letters of intent to play on the collegiate level. Fuessel will continue his career at Northwestern. Corbett is headed to Northern Illinois.
