Girls Volleyball Photo Gallery: L-W East Silences L-W North

Battle of Frankfort girls volleyball goes to Lincoln-Way East as the Griffins sweep to a straight-sets victory over Lincoln-Way North.

Sometimes a coach measures performance by looking beyond the scoreboard.

Lincoln-Way East's Linda Vivona was doing that following the Griffins' 25-23, 25-16 girls volleyball victory over district rival Lincoln-Way North on Tuesday night.

Vivona was pleased with the win, but not the performance turned in by the team she coaches.

"We came out slow (in Game 1), and I was not pleased," Vivona said. "We came out in the  the second game much stronger. It's always good to win on an away court."

Katie Allen, a 6-3 senior, led the Griffins with seven service ponts, four kills, three blocks and two aces.
