Frankfort Students, Family & Alumni Help Set Tuba Record

The Frankfort contingent participated in a "Tuba Christmas" in Chicago.

From Summit Hill Junior High School Principal Pam Hodgson:

Students from Hilda Walker, Summit Hill Junior High School and Lincoln-Way North High School, along with family and alumni, participated in the national "Tuba Christmas" at the Palmer House in downtown Chicago.

This year's Chicago group set a record with 386 tuba and baritone-euphonium players participating, ranging in age from 10 to 86.

The group consisted of Walker sixth graders Sophia Brattoli and Sam Hauser, Summit Hill students Ryan Burns, Matthew Fritsch, Xander Newman, Chris Patterson and director Kim Coughlin, Lincoln-Way North students AJ Brattoli, Maddie Hauser, Jimmy Kreuz, Kat Patterson and Geoff Ward, and Lincoln-Way North alum Ryan McKalip.

Rounding out the group were Jim Kreuz, father of Lincoln-Way North student Jimmy Kreuz, and eighth grader Xavier Sevcik, now a resident of Irvine, California but a member of the band at Summit Hill last year. Sevcik flew in early to be able to participate in the event with his friends.
