Chelsea Students to Reread, Reuse and Recycle

It will be all about recycling when Chelsea students participate in a book exchange night on April 19 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the school at 22265 S. 80th Avenue in Frankfort.

Coordinating with Earth Day, the Reread, Reuse, Recycle event will encourage children to bring in up to 10 gently used books to exchange them.

Additional activities during the event include a performance by a magic storyteller, students making bags out of their old T-shirts, making bookmarks out of No. 6 plastic and using pop-tops to make recycled bracelets.

There will also be slide show of Chelsea students singing Wizard of Oz songs.  The children are being encouraged to bring their parents in to sign up for the District 157-C virtual backpack and box top programs.  T

he Family School Partnership organization will be selling “Smencils” smelly pencils made from recycled materials.
