District 210 to Sell Parcel of Land in Tinley Park

The land was originally intended as the site for Lincoln-Way North High School, officials said.

The Lincoln-Way District 210 Board of Education will seek a buyer for a 70-acre parcel of land at 191st and Harlem Avenue, in Tinley Park.

The board May 22 began the process of unloading the land, with a resolution detailing the requirements. The board will run a closed bidding process, with a set minimum price of $5.9 million, and a required security deposit of $250,000. All security deposits would be returned to unsuccessful bidders.

The bidding process opens June 24. Closing will take place within 180 days. The security deposit will become earnest money toward the purchase.
